Israel “Izzy” Klein has his name on the shop’s door — just like his dad did.

Klein, who spent a dozen years as a Capitol Hill aide before decamping for K Street in 2009, recently left the lobbying firm Podesta Group to help launch the newly rebranded Irizarry-Klein-Roberti.

“I felt like it was time for me to see if I could do this thing, not entirely on my own but with a couple of partners,” says Klein, whose father, an immigrant from the former Soviet Union, operated his own “Mike’s Hardware” for three decades in New Jersey.
