Kelli Briggs
Kelli Briggs brings nearly two decades of public and private sector experience to Klein/Johnson Group. She offers valuable strategic and policy engagement for a range of clients and is known for a consensus-driven, results-oriented approach to getting things done. She combines that style with strong House leadership connections, bicameral and bipartisan relationships in the U.S. Capitol, and a foundation of trust among industry stakeholders.
Before joining the Klein/Johnson Group, Kelli was head of government and industry affairs for a healthcare technology company. She developed and implemented the company’s political and legislative strategy regarding electronic prior authorization, privacy, and interoperability. Prior to that, she was a government affairs consultant advising and advocating on behalf of various Fortune 200 companies, trade associations, and coalitions on a range of issues including taxation and trade.
Kelli spent 12 years on Capitol Hill serving as the chief of staff to Congressman Patrick J. Tiberi (R-OH), a longtime member of the House Ways and Means Committee, chair of its subcommittees on tax policy, trade, and health, and chair of the Joint Economic Committee. As chief of staff, she led a team in support of Tiberi’s critical role in securing committee and floor passage of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 and the Trade Promotion Authority Act of 2015. Kelli had previously been Tiberi’s legislative director, managing the policy team and covering a portfolio of issues before the Ways and Means Committee and judiciary, education, and labor policy matters.
Kelli received a bachelor’s degree in criminology from Ohio University. She currently resides in her hometown of Columbus, Ohio with her dog, Lambeau, who is the unofficial mascot of the Green Bay Packers.
